Fleißig, Fleißig/ Busy, Busy

In den letzten Wochen ist noch einiges anderes fertig geworden: ein Rock, eine Schürze und eine Strickjacke. Letztes Jahr um die Zeit wollte ich den Rock eigentlich schon fertig haben, aber was soll’s. Was lange währt wird endlich gut.

During the last weeks I also finished some other things. These are: a skirt, an apron and a sweater. Initially the skirt should be finished last year, but what the hey! Good things come to those who wait.

Der Rock gefällt mir sehr gut, vor allem mit dem Unterrock drunter. Damit bekommt er nochmal viel mehr Stand und fällt viel schöner. 

I really like how the skirt came out, especially with the underskirt.

Unterrock/ underskirt

Der Schnitt ist aus dem  Buch Pattern of Fashion Vol. 2  und der Stoff ist ein schwerer Wollstoff. Der ist etwas kratzig, weshalb ich ihn auch gefüttert habe und mit zusätzlichem Unterrock merkt man davon ohnehin nichts. Das war das erste Mal, dass ich überhaupt etwas gefüttert habe und es hat eigentlich ganz gut geklappt. Ich habe mich da auch an gekauften Röcken orientiert. Ansonsten habe ich noch Samtband am Saum draufgenäht.

The pattern is from the book Pattern of Fashion Vol. 2 and the fabric is heavy wool. It is a bit scratchy, that is the reason for the lining. But with an additional underskirt you also didn’t notice it. It was the first time I lined anything and it worked quite well. I also looked at bought skirts to figure out how they did it, which made it much easier. Furthermore, I also added velvet band at the seam. 

das Futter/ linen

Meine erste Strickjacke ist auch auf den Bildern oben zu sehen. Die ist nach einer Dropsanleitung gestrickt. Und schließlich noch die Schürze die auch passend für's Plätzchen backen fertig geworden ist. Das Schnittmuster ist hier von Simplicity und sie ist aus weißem Batist. Ich habe nur noch Träger  und Taschen hinzugefügt, da diese im Schnitt nicht vorgesehen waren.

Moreover, you can also see my first knitted sweater. The pattern is from Drops and I like it very much. And last but not least my new apron, which was finished just in time for baking cookies. The pattern is from Simplicity and I only added straps and pockets. In addition, it is made out of white batiste.

 

Wolle und Schürze/ Wool and Apron

Letzten Freitag ist mein Spinnrad gekommen und ich war das ganze Wochenende fleißig am Spinnen. Leider wird der Faden noch sehr unregelmäßig, aber das wird bestimmt noch. Übung macht den Meister und bis dahin verkaufe ich das als gewollt. Also falls jemand fragt, dass muss so aussehen

Last Friday my new spinning wheel arrived and I spent the whole weekend with spinning. The yarn is still a bit irregular, but with more training I am sure I will get better results. Practice makes perfect and until then I say it was meant to look like this.



Hier seht ihr 2 volle Spulen einmal verzwirnt und einmal als Single und 2 bereits fertig gehaspelte Stränge.
Here you can see 2 bobbins the left one is plied whereas the other one is a single thread and in front you can see 2 finished skeins.

Und weil ich am Freitag total zugefusselt war hab ich mir am Samstag gleich noch eine Schürze zum Spinnen genäht, dann trag ich nicht alles durch die Wohnung.

And because of the incredible amount of pieces of lint, I decided to sew an apron for spinning, to prevent distributing everything in the flat.
